Photovoltaic and energy storage systems for self-consumption at a spa complex

Two self-consumption photovoltaic installations with second-life battery storage, installed at the Trillo spa resort (Guadalajara). The installations combine photovoltaic generation on canopies with energy storage systems based on second-life batteries, manufactured and supplied by Batteryfly, a company in the circular energy economy sector in which Grupotec holds a stake. The combination of solar generation and storage using reused batteries optimises self-consumption, reduces feed-in to the grid and ensures a stable supply in environments with variable energy demand, such as hotels. The project is a practical demonstration of the circular economy model applied to the energy transition: electric vehicle batteries that have reached the end of their useful life in the transport sector are reconditioned for a second life as stationary storage systems, reducing waste generation, lowering demand for critical raw materials and adding renewed value to the energy asset.
