Distribution centre for the gourmet food industry

The project for Antonio de Miguel’s new gourmet products distribution centre was carried out entirely by Grupotec, from the overall design of the industrial plant and offices to the execution of the construction work and installations in phases, during which exhaustive budget monitoring was carried out with ‘zero’ deviation.

A comprehensive project

The plant has a floor area of almost 9,000 m², which is three times the size of its current facilities, and has been designed to maximise energy efficiency and optimise process flows.

A warehouse management system (WMS) and an automated case-handling system for order fulfilment have been implemented. In addition, Grupotec has installed a zero-feed-in photovoltaic system for self-consumption, with an installed capacity of 264 kW.

The project has been a prime example of the success of the BIM methodology. Thanks to BIM, precise planning and coordination were achieved, communication between all teams was improved, and efficiency was maximised whilst process flows were optimised.
