Energy management system for food manufacturing plants
Design and implementation of a multi-site Energy Management System for Panamar Bakery Group — one of Spain’s leading suppliers of frozen bread and pastries to the professional market — a sector that is particularly sensitive to energy consumption due to the nature of its freezing and temperature-controlled storage processes. The system developed by Grupotec is structured around data acquisition units distributed throughout all the facilities, which enable the simultaneous and continuous measurement of electricity, natural gas, compressed air and water consumption, along with key parameters of the refrigeration process, all integrated into a SCADA environment with real-time plant overviews. Each plant thus has complete visibility of its energy footprint, enabling it to identify deviations, optimise system operations and reduce both energy costs and environmental impact.
