Olallo Villoldo: the entrepreneur
The founder of Grupotec starts offering engineering project services.
1997
The birth of Grupotec
Expanding areas of activity and bringing the first senior managers into the shareholding: the most significant decision for the company’s subsequent development.
2005
Entry into the Renewables business
Construction of the first rooftop photovoltaic plants. Two years later, the first plants under the investment and operation model followed.
2010
Entry into the UK Market
A pivotal move that proved key to overcoming the photovoltaic crisis affecting Spain, and one that established the UK as one of the company’s primary markets.
2011
Rebrand
A milestone that arrived after a long track record of growth and a period during which the foundations for the company’s future were firmly laid.
2014
Surpassing €100 million in turnover
Having built strong foundations and sustained a long period of continuous growth, Grupotec reached a landmark financial milestone.
2015
First ground-mounted solar PV developments
The launch of what would become one of the company’s primary growth drivers in the years that followed.
2016
Launch of the Design & Build business
The establishment of a division that has since delivered more than 40 construction projects.
2017
Launch of the Integral Water Management business
A new division offering turnkey water solutions for the industrial sector.
2020
Launch of the Real Estate Development business
Completing the final link in the value chain within the building and real estate market.
2022
We enter the battery storage market
Construction of the first BESS project, delivered in the United Kingdom.
2025
Opening of the new headquarters at Ikon Valencia
