Grupotec takes part in Alicante Architecture Week

Architecture Week 2023 was recently held in Alicante, during which various buildings across the province opened their doors to the public free of charge. The aim is to raise awareness of recent, high-quality architecture and urban planning amongst the general public. The architects and designers of the buildings were on hand to guide visitors and explain the projects selected by the Alicante Regional Association of Architects. It is a unique opportunity to discover contemporary architecture and urban planning in our region.

The Arenales Lecture Theatre at Miguel Hernández University in Elche, designed by Grupotec Arquitectura, was selected for a visit as part of the OPEN ALC programme during ARCHITECTURE WEEK 2023. Our colleague, Francisco Mansilla, who designed the project alongside Lola Romera and Marta Clavera, led the talk and guided tour of the lecture theatre.

The building stands out for the way it blends into its surroundings, taking on the colour and texture of the very land on which it stands – a mix of earthy tones and ochres from the landscaped areas combined with the rough texture of the scraped concrete on the footpaths.
